centralised Android attestation is still centralised, no matter how much time is spent on framing the "it's open source hence it's better by default!" argument. especially when the only difference from Play Integrity is figureheads in charge.

ironically, EU is likely to take the idea to their liking and push it as a way to divest from US. which is also conveniently a way to consolidate more control.

@GrapheneOS Which companies are "disallowed" to partake in #UnifiedAttestation? You have formally and informally been cordially invited. As are any and all other OS manufacturers. Please, let's ease the tone. What about a constructive talk? I believe we should support one another wherever possible and meaningful. Considering the vast market potential, we have all much to gain. Some will choose GOS, some VOS, etc. It's a big cake. Let's ditch Google - unified. Good day!

L'articolo denuncia il monopolio della sicurezza che Google esercita su Android attraverso il sistema di controllo proprietario Play Integrity.
Se un telefono non utilizza i servizi di Google, come ad esempio i sistemi alternativi /e/OS, LineageOS o GrapheneOS
non viene considerato affidabile e quindi vengono bloccate alcune app sensibili ( banche, servizi governativi ecc).

Un consorzio formato da quattro attori europei (Volla Systeme, Murena, Iodé e Apostrophy) ha lanciato il progetto #opensource #UnifiedAttestation per rompere questo monopolio.

Naturalmente gli ostacoli politici ed economici che deve affrontare questo progetto per rompere il monopolio di Google non mancano.
