У Хавьера Рея много фотографий с гомоэротическим дискурсом и мейловской обнажёнкой, но я выбрал кошку в прыжке.

Javier Rey

Javier Rey is an artist, photographer and graphic designer of the National University of Colombia. Born in Bucaramanga (Colombia) in 1991. Currently based in Bogotá, Co. He’s represented by The Art Design Project a gallery based in Miami, USA. and is the main editor and printer at FanLab, a studio dedicated to the production of museum quality expositions and fine art printing. His work has been shown in numerous collective exhibitions, a solo show at Permanente Gallery in 2018 and several international art fairs like AtrtLima (Peru), Scope Art Fair (Miami) and La Feria Del Millón (Colombia). His work has also been published in books like Unlocked, by the greek based collective Atopos, as one of the 145 web’s most relevant visual artists and photographers of 2015. His images in which he explores the body and the possibilities of sculpture through photography have been featured in several publications in Colombia, USA, Mexico, Germany, Spain, Denmark and other countries. I have always been fascinated by the concept of perfection and how it modifies the spaces we inhabit, the cities we transit, and the bodies and minds we have. Through documenting, staging, and collecting and categorizing photographs, I investigate the various human dynamics and emotions that shape our interactions and existence in the world we collectively live in. My work explores the idea that no matter how much effort we put into fabricating a perfect life through perfect images, the inevitable chaos, will always interfere with even the most utopian of realities. In a world where we are bombarded with images of an idealized existence, I point out the beauty and complexity of imperfection. Ultimately, my work is a reflection of the complexities of the human experience and how our interactions and existence affect the world we live in. By investigating the perceptions and concepts of perfection or human canons, I aim to create a dialogue about the nature of reality and the various ways in which we navigate the world around us.
