On Aug. 19, the DHS published a 14-page report revealing more than 32,000 #unaccompanied #minors did not attend their #immigration #hearings between the fiscal years of 2019 and 2023. What’s more, nearly 300,000 of these #kids that came across the #southern #border alone never even got a #courtdate whatsoever.

The US-based group International Rescue Committee said its assessments indicate the number of #unaccompanied children in Gaza is far higher than UNICEF’s estimates of 17,000, and said doctors are reporting finding children without surviving family members living in hospitals due to a lack of alternative care arrangements.
The IRC says families in Gaza are eight times more likely to be caring for children that aren’t their own in comparison to typical situations.
