I've mentioned how I long for non-binary representation in media that would speak to me personally. As I continue to watch Umbrella Academy (for the first time, now in season 3), the more I relate with Klaus. To be clear, I don't relate with his self-destructive substance abusing behavior. It's the whole attitude and how he looks. The aura.

Sure, it isn't explicitly mentioned that he's non-binary and his siblings refer to him as he/him. However, he surely is coded as one. Moreover, the showrunner has mentioned Klaus is "gender fluid" and Klaus's actor Robert Sheehan has said, a) "Klaus is the sort of character who defies labels and exists outside of the binaries imposed by society. I’ve always just thought of him as free and fluid." , and b) "Not necessarily a man, he's kind of just this creature that's not bound by traditional societal norms like 'man', 'woman', 'masculinity', 'femininity'. He just sort of… is.”

In my head canon it's clear as a day, Klaus is non-binary, from the very first episode. And I really like that "just sort of... is." I think I'm more and more leaning towards that kind of thinking in relation to myself.

Just finished the last of Umbrella Academy and sorry to say goodbye to those characters, it was it's own special little ride and we enjoyed it. We have a particular affection for Klaus, feels like he would be cool to hang out with.

Tja... Jetzt hab ich sie fertig, die Umbrella Academy. Ich weiß noch nicht so wirklich, ob ich die Serie gut finden soll oder nicht.
Also, eigentlich... ist sie schon ganz cool. Besonders zwei Faktoren fielen mir positiv auf:
Als Elliot Pages Transition im Real Life stattfand, wurde das in die Serie miteingebaut, was ich total gut fand.
Und: Mein Teenie-Ich aus der Vergangenheit hätte auf Aidan Gallagher (Actor von Nummer 5) garantiert einen Crush, wenn es die Serie damals schon gegeben hätte. 😁😎
Aber es gibt auch paar nervige Dinge an der Serie: Zu viele Zwischenparts, die nichts mit der Mainstory zu tun haben und die ich ab Staffel 3 dann geskipt habe. Hat einige Folgen in die Länge gezogen, was sich bisschen nach Kaugummi angefühlt hat. Weniger von diesen streckenden Parts wäre besser gewesen.
Trotzdem mag ich sehr die Story mit den Zeitlinien und den Effekten der Kräfte in der Serie.😊
