I tried different kernels, I tried updating the firmware...nothing works. The datasette just doesn't seem to get power. I can't rewind/fast-forward - nothing. Sent an email to an address of the ultimate64 web site (not Commodore) and we'll see if I get a response.
Could a different kernel cause the datasette to not even rewind? It's totally non-responsive...as if it's not even plugged in.
Ok, so the datasette seems to work on the new C64U, but on my U64...nothing. I'm open to ideas to check.
FWIW, I successfully saved and loaded a simple program:
10 PRINT "HELLO"
20 GOTO 10
Still want to know why it's not working on my Ultimate 64 though.
This was with my Ultimate 64. Does anyone know if the datasette port work 'out of the box' on the C64 Ultimate? Should I try on that one? Meh, I'll try.
Ugh...looks like I'm not getting power to my Datasette.
Is there a setting in the Ultimate 64 I missed to enable the Datasette port?
#Commodore has released firmware 1.1.0 for the #C64ultimate and it seems to contain the fixes from Gideon's #Ultimate64 3.14d firmware (including more robust #JiffyDOS support) while retaining the more refined system menus from the Commodore branded computers.
