San Francisco's teacher strike may be over, with a tentative agreement last night giving staff fully funded family Healthcare, district wide sanctuary status for its students, and a 5% raise for teachers (8% for classified workers).
Far less of a raise than desired, but the Healthcare agreement is what they were asking for.

Passed by several schools on my way to work today. Scores of teachers, and some students, were out picketing. Honked in solidarity to boisterous cheers.
Remember, one of the most effective ways of showing solidarity is to contribute to their strike fund, so they can feed their families while on the picket line and keep the strike going long enough to force the superintendent's hand.
