We recently came across an amazing project called uBlockOrigin & uBlacklist Huge AI Blocklist.

As they describe it, it's:

A huge blocklist of manually curated sites (1000+) that contain AI generated content, for the purposes of cleaning image search engines (Google Search, DuckDuckGo, and Bing) with uBlock Origin or uBlacklist.

There's something really lovely at the top of the uBlock Origin filter list, just under the description, that brought us a small bit of very-much-needed joy, and we wanted to share it here with others 🫶

Backed-up and then reset uBlock Origin as there was a lot of cruft kicking about in the lists there.

I wanted to bring it level with where phoenix for Firefox is and then add whichever lists I'm missing.

After looking through the Super-SEO-Spam-Suppressor, I came across a no QAnon filterlist too.

Thoroughly recommend the Huge-AI-Blocklist too. These can work via uBlacklist too, which I think I will try and work out

Edit: Found out about Fanboy AI suggestions list. Which was in uBlock's lists but I hadn't enabled.

I am adding websites to my ublacklist extension every other day.

Most of them are unhelpful troubleshooting sites or sites that smell a lot like AI slop...

If you want to add them as well, here's my current list:

Do you use uBlacklist and have a an exported list for me?

@OhOkayKay #uBlackList springs to mind for hiding domains in search results. I haven't used it for a while.

One of the cooler, quality-of-life extensions we've been using for a while in Firefox (desktop and mobile) is uBlacklist.

It may not seem like much, but being able to block websites from even showing in the results massively reduces the low-level damage from seeing certain websites show up when trying to get factual information, rather than propaganda and disinformation.

The types of websites we currently have blocked include:

  • Anti-trans rights lobbyists.
  • Right-wing newspapers, media, and forums.
  • Anti-Palestine and/or pro-Israel organisations.
  • Anti-migration organisations.
  • Anti-neurodivergence (particularly anti-autism, anti-ADHD, and anti-AuDHD) organisations.
    • This especially includes any website recommending ABA or similar practices.
  • AI-themed websites.
  • Other misinformation and disinformation websites.

Today all the #AI everywhere really did it – in a bad way – so I installed the Huge AI Blocklist for uBlock Origin in Floorp. iOS installation was a bit of a pain, but that may be because I refuse to update to 18.

So far so good I'd say.

did another round of poking at #uBlacklist settings and got them synced up between PC and phone.

thank you "DeepWiki" for reminding me to do that! *plonk*

A cose serve?

addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firef…
