#Typhalatifolia is a perennial herbaceouswetland plant in the genus #Typha. It is known in English as bulrush[4][5](sometimes as common bulrush[6] to distinguish from other species of Typha)
These are one of my favorite plants, pictured last summer, winter 2023, and today. This particular species is typha latifolia (the bulrush). The plant looks so peculiar. Some parts of it are edible as well, though I've never tasted it. They are called "osmankäämi" in Finnish, but they also have an old colloquial name: papinkulli.

The Finnish for "priest's c**k".

Moving on... If I spot bulrushes, I kinda feel compelled to take photos of their "cigars" every time. No no, not because of... Nevermind.

Retention Pond
