In conclusion: Listen to it if you’re a fan - don’t if you’re not. I will say, 40+ tracks is a tough listen, but I would do the same for a #TechN9ne project and some of those have moments that are “sluggish.” I don’t think it’s better than #TheFallOff nor do I think it comes close to #GNX , I can make the argument that #DontTapTheGlass and #MaidOfHonor has some places to compare but #TylerTheCreator makes more cohesive projects and now, more than ever, it shows. If you’re someone that just wants to vibe and hear something in the background, you’ll have content that works for you. At the same time, you already had that with #SomeSexySongs4U .

The big question and ultimately, what this album will be judged on is: What happens next? If this truly got #Drake out of his #UMG contractual obligations, then #SteveStout ‘s thoughts about #Drake being independent might just come to fruition, albeit when he has significantly slowed down. We’ll see what happens over time.

…Listen? Hell no. I made the point earlier that people are going to have to sit with this. Part of the reason why is because it is so disjointed but also, because #hiphop still does feel like it’s in a state of transition. There’s equally more variety yet, it’s becoming harder to discover artists. In that vein, #RunToAtlanta having an underground artist makes sense as it still feels like that Good Ole #DrakeStimulusPackage energy, but it also doesn’t. Seeing #21Savage make an appearance on the album makes sense but, it still doesn’t feel “new.”

Selfishly, I enjoy watching an artist’s journey through their albums, especially when there’s growth in their approach. #TylerTheCreator is a great example of that for me. While I don’t expect #Drake to do things that Tyler does, I feel like there’s a missing element of growth in the project because he doesn’t fully commit to it. There are moments, but it feels like the smart kid in the class not wanting to show that he’s smart. It’s musically constipated…
