For a Trashion Show in Long Beach in June, I'm making an ensemble from undonatable (stained/holey/stretched-out/outgrown/etc.) t-shirts. The dress is made from old white t-shirts, most of them from events (blood drive, flash mob, camps, school days, birthday parties)--really not donatable. I mostly handsewed it, though I used a machine to make the front pocket, for extra strength. Then I dyed the whole thing red. The overlayer is also made from old t-shirts, but they've been cut into strips and crocheted together, rug-style.
