I've heard this bird before but have no idea what it is as I haven't managed to see it. Can anyone identify it for me, please? There are other noises in the video, but it's the bird Im looking to identify. It is definitely a bird, by the way, as it has flitted from one side of the path to the other. #fediverse #mastodon #Twitchers

I went back to check on the baby bird. It has gone, so presumably it is OK.

Thank you everyone for sharing your identification of the bird.

Can anyone identify this bird? I suspect it is quite young. It was chirping away for quite some time in this spot without flying away. It seemed quite discombobulated (another way of spelling confused :-).

Can you guess the bird from this visual representation of their call?

Nieuwe vertaling! Wat een fijn laatste deel in de Twitchers-serie, met weer een spannend raadsel om op te lossen en een hoofdrol voor de doortastende Ava. Zo jammer dat het nu klaar is, ik zal deze dappere kiddo’s missen! 🪶

Can someone in Western Australia please identify a Western Ground Parrot aka Pezoporus wallicus ssp. flaviventris.
And pop it in to #iNaturalist so that a game I play with some Discord mates updates its UI to show a picture? RT appreciated. Get off social media, and touch grass. https://www.inaturalist.org/taxa/512260-Pezoporus-wallicus-flaviventris

Western Ground Parrot (Subspecies Pezoporus wallicus flaviventris)

The western ground parrot (Pezoporus flaviventris) is an endangered species of parrot endemic to Western Australia and is a close relative of the eastern ground parrot (P. wallicus) and the somewhat more distantly related and mysterious night parrot (Pezoporus occidentalis). It is one of the world's rarest birds with about 40 individuals remaining. (Source: Wikipedia, '', http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Western_ground_parrot, CC BY-SA 3.0 )

Just saw a pair of turtle doves in the garden. Are they common now in Ireland? No colouring on wings, but light grey, with a partial black collar, very tame looking. Moved on now.
