Night terrors, no eviction moratorium, and a school lockdown

Cowards, the lot of you: Walz won’t call for an eviction moratorium because it’s “legally fraught”. Oh, yes, we should be concerned with legality in the middle of our neighbors being abducted in broad daylight. They are building enemy lists: Court filings reveal what was long suspected, ICE uses plate readers and facial recognition to track citizen observers. They do this even to city counselors. Nothing has changed: Terror and sheltering-in-place continue after the so-called “drawdown”. The only drawdown was less media coverage. They didn’t want our stories to be told. Liam Ramos continues to shelter in place after ICE detainment and return. Despite reports that he appeared at the Superbowl halftime show, his father confirms that was not him in interview with MPR. Tom Homan calls on locals to “end the resistance”. What was it the cops kept saying, “If you’re doing nothing wrong you have nothing to fear”? What’s wrong, have something to fear from the people with whistles and cameras? University of St. Thomas in downtown Minneapolis was in lockdown earlier today due to a “credible threat”. An anonymous post from Alex Pretti’s community ICE watch dispatcher posts a memorial open latter. No right to a speedy trial, imprisonment forever:

If you are in Minnesota and are looking to help keep watch for ICE vehicles in your neighborhood or while out on errands, you can use this License Plate lookup tool: https://defrostmn.net/plate-check/index.html

This is a culmination of data being collected by on the ground volunteers monitoring ICE’s staging bases, and is updated daily. #minneapolis #twincities #ice

I created a little illustration that's unique, but based on a few others floating around – with the plan to eventually make it into a free watch face.

Still plenty of fuckery going on out there; it might be useful if you're looking for a clearly-marked free license vector image…for whatever Good Trouble you're getting into.

Free to use, alter, whatever, without attribution. Hit the link for SVG and EPS options.

ICE, and lessons from Minnesota
Last week, Donald Trump’s border Czar Tom Homan announced a drawdown of ICE personnel in Minnesota, following weeks of chaos and two deadly incidents in the state. Homan insisted that ICE was not surrendering, and this departure was instead evidence of ICE’s success in Minnesota.
Beginning in December 2025, ICE announced ‘Operation Metro Sur...

50 arrests outside of Whipple, cops bulldoze block filters

Yesterday: Truthout writes how indigenous-let communities are keeping people safe from ICE. ICE has detained many native americans who live in the Twin Cities. To protect and serve (fascism): NYT reports at least 50 arrested outside of the Whipple Building yesterday where many detainees are kept in inhumane conditions. Once again, the cops help ICE. Minneapolis Spring interviewed several neighbors about filter blockades. They weren’t even obstructing traffic, just causing a minor inconvenience. And the cops sent bulldozers. Probably the same ones they use to raze homeless encampments to the ground…

"This is not the first time All My Relations has served as a community hub amid turmoil... In 2020, shortly after the murder of George Floyd by Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin, Two Stars and her team opened the space for community members just as they did in early January...

“The thinking is the same. We’re not going to bow down to the fear tactics. Hand in hand, everyone is doing the work together.”"

Indigenous-Led Collectives Are Keeping Minnesotan Communities Safe From ICE

Members of the American Indian Movement and the Many Shields Warrior Society are patrolling the streets of Minneapolis.

Block Parties get busted...then rebuilt.

Really? That’s what you’re worried about? Overtime for law enforcement creating budget problems for Minneapolis. Huh, didn’t expect that: Glamour (yes, the fashion mag) reports on the resilance of women in the Twin Cities. Rolling Stone (yes, the music mag) writes about the connection between Twin Cities activism and the punk music scene. We really do mean “all cops”: Man assulted by ICE while in the hospital recounts his experience. Protestors creating a block party clash with police and state troopers. The Minneapolis Spring account on BlueSky posted additional photos of the demonstration. Posts on social media also suggests demostrators threw dildos, and rebuilt barricades after the cops left.
