Venticinque metri di sudario, largo otto, per non rimanere in silenzio e non dimenticare gli oltre 18mila bambini uccisi a Gaza fra ottobre 2023 e maggio 2025.
Il sudario, venerdì 10 aprile, ha attraversato in silenzio le strade dall’Esquilino al Verano: sopra al telo bianco, i volontari di Carnia per la pace, hanno scritto a mano i nomi di quei 18.457 bambine e bambini palestinesi che hanno perso la vita.
A sostenere il telo, decine di mani, simbolo “di un gesto collettivo di cura e memoria”.
L’iniziativa, nata a Udine per la famosa partita Italia-Israele dello scorso ottobre, è già stata portata a Feltre, Bologna, Firenze, Tolmezzo, Bassano, Trieste, Napoli.
A promuovere l’evento, il Comitato Piazza Vittorio Partecipata, Donne in Ascolto di S. Lorenzo, Ultimo Giorno di Gaza, e poi “gruppi e persone che hanno a cuore l’umanità e la pace tra i popoli”. A partecipare anche attori, giornalisti e rappresentanti di associazioni che, al Piazzale del Verano, hanno letto una parte dei nomi scritti sul sudario. Tra gli annunciati, Paolo Briguglia, Paola Caridi, Irma Ciaramella, Consuelo Ciatti, Antonietta De Lillo, Anna Foglietta, Francesca Fornario, Maya Issa, Caterina Lo Bue, Canio Lo Guercio, Gaia Riposati, Caterina Venturini, don Andrea Caporale della Rete dei Preti contro il genocidio.

Twenty-five meters of shroud for Gaza crosses the streets of Rome: the initiative to not forget the 18,000 children killed – Video

Twenty-five meters of shroud, eight meters wide, in order not to remain silent and not forget the over 18,000 children killed in Gaza between October 2023 and May 2025.

The shroud, on Friday, April 10th, silently crossed the streets from Esquilino to Verano: on top of the white sheet, volunteers from Carnia for peace wrote by hand the names of those 18,457 Palestinian boys and girls who had lost their lives.

Decades of hands supported the sheet, a symbol “of a collective gesture of care and memory.”

The initiative, born in Udine for the famous Italy-Israel match last October, has already been carried to Feltre, Bologna, Florence, Tolmezzo, Bassano, Trieste, Naples.

Promoting the event was the Committee Piazza Vittorio Partecipata, Donne in Ascolto di S. Lorenzo, Ultimo Giorno di Gaza, and then “groups and people who care about humanity and peace between peoples.” Actors, journalists, and representatives of associations also participated, who, at Piazzale del Verano, read a part of the names written on the shroud. Among those announced were Paolo Briguglia, Paola Caridi, Irma Ciaramella, Consuelo Ciatti, Antonietta De Lillo, Anna Foglietta, Francesca Fornario, Maya Issa, Caterina Lo Bue, Canio Lo Guercio, Gaia Riposati, Caterina Venturini, don Andrea Caporale of the Rete dei Preti against genocide.
