The fifth release, if we disregard the singles, of this act from Atlanta. We are given a black metal moderately harmonious that shows some branching towards hardcore and death metal, but now with a greater focus on black metal, unlike its predecessors which shared those genres more evenly. Despite such offshoots the whole sonority conveys undoubtedly the black essence of metal, and even of those few passages that fall outside such boundaries, are delivered with such profound angst that is enough to subside any hunger for aggression. The record is a must-listen for fans of black metal, but it is also worth checking out for fans of other extreme metal subgenres. It is a well-crafted and thought-provoking album that will appeal to a wide range of listeners.
