I contacted my #endocrinologist about potentially using #fiasp in my #Tandem #tslim #insulinpump to help mitigate the issues I have balancing bolus response times & unpredictable #gastroparesis occurrence & duration. She’s not outright opposed which is nice, but she mentioned a different pump that is supposed to approximate how a pancreas works: #BetaBionics. I hadn’t heard of it. Does anyone have experience with this pump?

Have you any experience with #fiasp, particularly as used in an #insulin pump? How does it compare to #humalog or #novolog?
I take #novolog via my #tandem #tslim, but I’m finding it increasingly difficult to control my BG as my #gastroparesis grows more erratic over time. I’m wondering if a faster-acting insulin might help, allowing me to NOT bolus until I see a BG rise when my stupid stomach decides to start digesting (sometimes immediately, sometimes 4 hours later).
New sensor, who dis?
Note that on both urgent low alarms waking me up, I checked my blood and I was 111 and 113, respectively. And those spikes aren’t from my eating sugar, but rather my real BG after #Tandem #tslim #ControlIQ cut my #insulin off due to the false lows.
I’m not even sleeping on the sensor, so it’s not a compression low. It’s just #Dexcom sucking.
I really wish I could set a schedule for #ControlIQ. It’s maddening how often it just fucks my afternoon with this bullshit.

This #sensor made it about 6 hours before repeated #compressionlows triggering alerts on both my phone and #Tandem #tslim #insulinpump between midnight and 3am made me rip it out in a delirious rage.
So… I received a #tslim X2 #insulinpump from #TandemDiabetes today. Thing is, I didn’t order it. And they have no record of sending it. Nor does my supplier #EdgePark. And there are no insurance claims.
Tandem told me I should call those places to see what’s going on. I told the gentlemen, “Honestly, unless someone comes looking for $11k, I’m just going to hold onto it because it’s not my problem to figure out who screwed up.”
Poor guy didn’t know what to say with that & eventually agreed 😆
Now, I just get to wait and stare at this until the 21st when #Diabetes Education can squeeze me in to switch from my #tslimX2 by #TandemDiabetes to the new #Omnipod5 by #Insulet. I could just do it myself, like when I self started on the #tslim, but figured I probably shouldn’t upset them again. 😂
I think the thing I’m excited about the most is being tubeless, just because doorknobs and handles have been my greatest enemies, not to say a doorframe won’t become my new enemy. Also, I just love getting to use new #technology all the time. I’m happiest when I can use my joy for #tech and #nerd out with my #Type1Diabetes. 🤓
