O #português tem mais diacríticos do que o catalão e o espanhol:
• Também existe o #ponto nas letras i e j por questões de clareza.
• No entanto, só usamos o #trema em palavras de origem estrangeira como «mülleriano».
• O #til serve para marcar as vogais nasais ã e õ.
• Há três tipos de #acentos — agudo (´) para as vogais abertas, grave (`) para a crase e circunflexo (^) para as vogais fechadas.
• Tal como no catalão, a #cedilha aparece sob a letra c (ç) para indicar a pronúncia sibilante.
