A big few days in Australia. After a successful legal challenge against Queensland's gender affirming care ban, the conservative government was quick to reinstate the ban. In contrast Victoria is making progress on Indigenous rights through a landmark treaty. This reflects ongoing disparities between progressive southern states and more conservative northern regions in Australia.

The UCP will invoke the notwithstanding clause, declaring boldly and loudly that they do not stand with our children, they do not stand with charter rights, they do not stand with human rights, they do not stand with common decency.
