We have… A complicated relationship with our gender.

We've considered ourselves transmasc or men-leaning people our entire lives. And in a way, that's true for some of our sysmates! They're men or men-leaning and there's nothing you can do about it.

But if that's the case, why did we start to feel like prisoners of this label? That being a man(-leaning) is not cool and worth being ashamed of?

That no one will love us as a man. That we will be considered dangerous. Not attractive. Not even being worth attention.

Here's another question: we've never paid much attention to the term transneutral. But that's strange, because we have so many sysmates who would describe themselves that way. Why didn't we pay attention to it before? Why only now? And why it feels more freeing then identifying collectively as a man(-leaning)?

We feel so lost. All we know about ourselves is that we (most of us) are not women. That much we are certain of. But no more.

Oh fun. Lovely.

Bring out ur sewing machines, boys. We're NOT going back to cracked ribs & breast cancer being the norm.

Here's a DIY sewing pattern for chest binders: https://ureshiidesign.ca/blog/binder-pattern-download-/
I haven't tested the pattern myself, but according to others it's decent.

Remember to measure both your bust AND ribs. If/when in doubt, go with your ribcage measurements. Do not make a binder that's too tight on your ribs— even if it potentially might compress better. Improperly sized binders don't actually "work better." It's a common misconception. U don't want one too small, nor too big. Speaking from personal experience: if ur binder is too small, it won't flatten ur chest nearly as well as a bigger one would. All it'll do is cause you pain.

Oh, & "trans tape" is just KT tape. You can just buy KT tape. If ur worried about the brand trans tape being restricted specifically, there ya go.
Don't forget to cover ur nipples with a thick folded square of toilet paper or a tissue. That shit HURTS when u take it off if u forget (again, personal experience.)

Tagging this for discovery, bc finding #transmasc related anything on the fedi is like looking for a needle in a haystack. Not that this only applies to transmasculine folk— but I highly doubt anyone has ever used #transneutral or #transandrogynous tags before, despite it also being very relevant for them too.

my first medical appointment to do testing and stuff for HRT is in exactly a month, just two days before my birthday. 🥰

i don't know how long i'll have to wait for the second appointment where i actually get the rx though. hopefully not two months like between the intake and medical. (total waiting time was a year or more, depending on that second appt. this is manitoba btw)

Currently confused if more trans masc or trans neutral. I want a sexless body, yet I am transitioning into a masculine way??
Like, I want to remove my breasts (mastectomy) and uterus (partial hysterectomy), but I don't want to take T or masculanize my body too much.
And I don't feel like I fit into the trans masc definition, yet trans neutral seems to be so fucking unknown and I know literally NO ONE who's also trans neutral and it sometimes feels alienating from the trans community. Especially here on fedi, where it's just all "UwU cute cat girl transfems hehe UwU meow".. :S
