As soon as we came out of the woods we had amazing switch-backs in front of us 🤩
Look that view from the top 😍
And yes, we came across some snow 🥶
We felt so excited and proude that we've cycled this mountain pass, the Transfăgărășan (2040m) 😎
With 50km and 2510hm in the legs we where happy to find a easy campspot on top of the mountain saddle 🏕️
Marc made the most delicious flatbreads with melted 'alp-cheese' like racelette cheese 🫠 and we felt like being in the swiss mountains 😅
While having dinner suddenly a thick wet fog came up, covered everything for some moment and disapeared again...
We crawled in the tent quite early and slept so good in this wonderful quiet spot 😴

The Transfăgărășan (trans + Făgăraș) or DN7C is a paved mountain road crossing the southern section of the Carpathian Mountains of Romania.

The road climbs to an altitude of 2,042 metres (6,699 ft), making it the second highest mountain pass in Romania after the Transalpina. It is a winding road, dotted with steep hairpin turns, long S-curves, and sharp descents. It is both an attraction and a challenge for hikers, cyclists, drivers and motorcycle enthusiasts.[3] Due to the topography, the average speed is around 40 km/h (25 mph). The road also provides access to Bâlea Lake and Bâlea Waterfall.
