Boosting for awareness " 1754 – Surgical Procedures for Gender Affirmation in Adults with Gender Incongruence" is now in a consultation phase.

The Australian public health system (aka "Medicare") does not currently have codes for (and hence pay for) gender transition surgery.

"Medical condition this application addresses

Gender incongruence is characterised by a marked and persistent difference between an individual´s experienced gender and the assigned sex, which often leads to a desire to ‘transition’, in order to live and be accepted as a person of the experienced gender."

There is an active proposal being considered to change that.

"We welcome input from everyone. We are especially keen to hear from those with lived experience of the health condition, service or technology the applications are addressing."

State employee alleges Florida sidestepped process in excluding gender-affirming care from Medicaid
