Heading North!
All packed again, and back on the rails, all the way up North to Scandinavia this time! To get there would take me two Deutsche Bahn ICEs—what could possibly go wrong?—and for the very first time an SJ EuroNight sleeper train.

@hanktank6 we're travelling this summer for the first time from Brussels 🇧🇪 to Vienna 🇦🇹 .

For a family of 4 during peak season it's not the most expensive option. Moreover you can factor in the night that you won't spend at a hotel. The night train leaves in the evening and arrives in the morning, allowing travellers to enjoy the full day at a given destination. It's not the case for planes, often arriving in the evening or late afternoon.

Hello train travelers who know about the trains in Spain:

I have a trip soon with a leg #Barcelona Sants - Paris. When I used long distance trains in southern Spain last year, it involved metal detectors and much longer check in than I'm used to. Anyone know if this is also true for this connection? How early should I get there?

This is the only country I've had this (well, not true, there is the Eurostar since Brexit) so I'm not sure if that was temporary or not.

This little one had gotten stuck to the train window, so I decided to rescue her. She traveled with me inside my water bottle (empty, of course) all the way to Stuttgart, and once there, I released her in a garden. She flew straight up into the treetops—without even paying her fare 😄
