The Portland Trail Blazers are apparently the team most aggressively pursuing the services of Jaylen Brown.
The Plan B is interesting, too.

The new Portland Trail Blazers owner says the operating costs of an NBA team are higher than those of an NHL team. While that may be true, NBA basketball has a much larger global reach. The NBA is played in more than 200 countries and territories, while the NHL is played in roughly 80 countries.
Because basketball is a truly global sport, NBA teams have greater opportunities to generate revenue through international

Screw Tom Dundon. Why did the #NBA think some guy who made his riches taking advantage of poor people would ever fit as the owner of the #Portland #Trailblazers? At this point I am ready to just pretend that the #Fire are the only basketball team in the city and let this guy move the team and call them the North Carolina Hillbillies or some shit.
Looking at it from Nori's perspective, the last interim head coach in Portland, Tiago Splitter, is now HC of the Bulls. If Chauncey does win his case and somehow returns to be HC of the Blazers again (doubtful they'd want him, but he has lawyers), Micah now has the HC experience that likely won the Bulls job for Tiago over him. Both interviewed for it.
A foot in the door is worth two on the outside?
Portland has a unique situation b/c Chauncey Billups is loudly proclaiming his innocence, and he has legal representation. He remains suspended, not fired, & on the payroll. I'm not sure the team could offer a longer-term contract, which would suggest he's a permanent replacement, without incurring legal headaches, until Billups' case is settled. Chauncey welcomed a November trial date. Imo, Micah is Interim HC Nori, with team options Chauncey's lawyers would likely prefer.
They let go of a good one. They got one, too. Welcome to Portland, Head Coach Nori!

The Trail Blazers now have no head coach - unless they intend to reinstate Chauncey. Congratulations, Chicago. He was good for Portland.
