The houses typical of #Germany's #BergischesLand usually have a timber frame and either brick, wattle and daub, or slate siding (sometimes all, as seen here). They usually have green wooden shutters and white mouldings around the doors and windows. Some of the oldest standing cottages I have seen date back to the 16th century, and new houses with this traditional style are still being built. This one is probably at least 300 years old. You can spot the really old ones by how much the timber frame has warped over the years.
