Take cheap toy train, remove dodgy sound effects board and speaker, replace with cheap forward-off-reverse R/C board... then turn the tender body around on the chassis because it faces the wrong way(!), and... well it now has reverse and no unsynchronised vaguely-chuffing-adjacent sound.
Now to see if I can be bothered building a decent body on it.
Basically an idea I had of "can I turn a cheap toy train into a somewhat decent model railway?"
