The main object is Messier 51, otherwise known as the Whirlpool Galaxy. The gold portion on the right is NGC 5195, a dwarf galaxy that is slightly more distant and interacting with the much larger M51. This is a fairly significant crop from my full field of view.

Astro post! It's been a bit, but here's an image of a favorite subject I captured over the winter: Thor's Helmet Nebula. This object trails Orion in the night sky and is pretty low on my horizon. Most images are just Hydrogen and Oxygen, but I grabbed Sulfur data as well and included it in my processing.

Located between the constellations Orion and Gemini, Monkey Head Nebula is a large, colorful nebula is an excellent narrowband target. It is rich in red hydrogen, red sulfur, and blue oxygen, so the data is easy to work with.
