My advice — and it's by no means unique or insightful — get yourself a weather radio if you don't already have one.

It'll startle the hell out of you when it goes off.

Useful gadget! especially if tornado weather approaches when you're asleep.

Also, you can't really see a tornado that well at night.

Come to that, I've never seen a tornado.
