Camera used: E-M1 Mark II paired with Tokina RMC 400mm F5.6 Manual Lens (Nikon F mount adapted to m43).

These photos were taken just off the side of the road next to a wetland in my neighborhood. Photos have been cropped in camera. ISO ranged from 2500 to 5000 and shutter speed for the barn swallow was at around 1/1600th - 1/1250th of a second. Aperture was f/8 - f/16.

All photos are straight out of camera. Not my best, but it was relaxing.

Tokina Is Breaking Years of Silence to Build a 'Lens Like No Other'

Tokina is still serious about photography, even if it has been awfully quiet in recent years.

OK - Allow me to start my next boring series. Warning: VERY DISTURBING AND RIDICULOUS IMAGES AHEAD!

So, this whole series is actually about testing my new Tokina 11-16mm lens for macro jobs by reversing the lens (a common macro technique). This reversal should, theoretically, provide about 5.8:1 magnification factor (so close to 6).
Naturally, one would use focus stacking technique in such situations, but because I was not in liberty to do so, I've used the maximum f-number (f/22) to ensure maximum depth of field, which backfired; because higher f-number (or smallest aperture) would naturally cause soft images because of the diffraction effect. I would still need to test the lens further to find its sweet spot for the aperture in normal conditions (and maybe that would work for macro but still I'd need to do focus stacking to get a full sharp image).
The images in this series are sort of random as I couldn't find suitable conditions, but they were mainly from plants outside in the yard. Honestly, this whole set should have been deleted, but I'm posting it just to feel my efforts aren't wasted 😬
One good point of a hope though: the images can be seen a bit clearer from a distance.

Revisit.

Those who are following me maybe remember this spot and scene; I've shot it many times and done a panorama even. It's the grocery store near home. This shot with my new Tokina 11-16mm, at 11mm. The nice thing here not much rectification was done (if any, can't remember if I did so), but of course since it's a handheld shot, I had to adjust the tilt and such. I like the fence shadow here and I've used localized contrast technique to emphasize it (it was lighter).
