It...works? If your definition of a toastie is two bits of toasted bread with hot stuff in between then it's a toastie. It looks like a toastie, smells like a toastie and the tomato is lava so it feels like a toastie. 🤷‍♀️
You won't get those crispy cheesy bits on the edges like you would in a pan, but if all you've got is a microwave it's definitely better than no toastie.

The bread is a bit squished so I probably need a thicker cut than "sandwich", and I definitely need more cheese. Still, not a bad effort.

I don't have much use for it at home as I have a Breville that makes the King of All Toasties - the jaffle. All we've got at work is a microwave and a flat sandwich press that nobody ever cleans properly though, so I reckon it'll get some use there.
