I have just released version 1.10.0-beta.1 of the #TLP #Linux #powersaving tool.

You can now choose the profile to use for automatic switching. For example, you may set it to balanced on AC and power-saving on battery power. Support for power profiles and frequency limits on Intel Xe/Arc GPUs has been added, charge thresholds work with newer kernels and additional hardware.

I would like to hear your opinion on whether I should establish a new #TLP config default:

RESTORE_THRESHOLDS_ON_BAT=1

This would mean that the charge thresholds are reset to their configured values every time the power supply is disconnected. For example, if you previously removed them using tlp fullcharge in order to fully charge the battery for longer mobile operation.

Would this be useful for your use cases? Currently, you have to configure this explicitly.

Il semble que la coexistence entre #tlp et #power-profiles-daemon soit problématique (je n'ai pas beaucoup de détails). Il faut donc arbitrer et le choix majoritaire est en faveur de #tlp (parmi les utilisateurs de #Thinkpad)

i guess installing #tlp on #fedora really messed up something with gnome because it kept spitting out error messages about something being destroyed when it would wake. it was good enough reason to install #debian on my (modified) 2013 macbook pro and debian seems to be working a lot better on it for some reason. 🤔
