queries: one was a subquery with aggregation (which doesn't support indexes), and the other was a
JOIN without aggregation but with index support. I chose the subquery with aggregation.

Emacs: I rewrited my package for search of Chinese language pinyin
transcription in text.
It takes 'pinyin' as an input and finds pīnyīn and pīn yīn or pīnyin,
it's very usefull for Chinese learners as I am.
