2/3 I'm the #tinkerer in the fam.

We got a water resistant device some time ago and in order to install software on it we had to open it up. Was on me. I put all the screws in the box with the screwdriver bits and closed it such as nothing could go out. Today I received the request to close it; got to it..

10 little screws star shaped. All the tools under the couch for quick access :) 4 screws away I discovered that one screw is missing.

1/3 In the fam I am the #tinkerer with the physical objects while my husband is the tinkerer with software/systems.

He bought himself a new up/down desk from IKEA and yesterday I spent an hour putting it togheter while he made dinner.

I'm the one who does maintanance on the robot vacuum cleaner, AC unit, coffee maker.

- Touch Panel bstelle (und dänn nöd gnau druuf chläbe 🙈🙈🙈)

Chostepunkt: Ca. 40 Stutz.

Akku gsed au no guet uus. Mal luege, ob ich dä au no irgendwie widerverwände chan :-)

I have a question for the #tinkerer community. This board is from an Argus 3 Ultra camera which has a crumbled USB connector (known issue). The camera is fine and has been replaced under warranty so I'd rather not throw this one out as a result without trying a repair.

I can't find a replacement board vendor so my only option is to replace the USB port entirely. I've never done this though, my question is - is it feasible to replace? I assume I need to desolder it from the top and bottom? Does anyone know of a UK vendor that sells the same USB C ports, or is it the kind of generic connector I could buy and adjust from any electronics hobby shop?

Do I need a special solder tip for this sort of work? I've got a basic gas powered iron with some small tips but I can't recall their sizes.
