I'd like to buy a used time machine, still working reliably, though only needs to be able to cover the last ~120 years. Required capacity: 1 Person, plus a load of spanners I need to throw into some people's works.

I just set up a fresh Time Machine backup volume for the MacBook Neo on an external USB-C drive. I guess, it won't break any records in 2026, but I'm old enough to appreciate write speeds of over 900MB/s. 😉

A time machine by itself wouldn't be as great.

If you just move in time; the Earth would have rotated on its axis, moved further along its orbit around the Sun, the Sun would have moved through the galaxy, the whole galaxy would have shifted in its supercluster, and the universe is expanding too.

What would actually be useful is a space-time machine. It would not only let you jump through time, but also decide where to land.
