Thought I'd make a soppy labour video while I'm sleep deprived and filled with post partum hormones!
I was induced early for several reasons but it was definitely the right call as she's thrived out the womb - feeding about every two hours and growing!
I had the Foley balloon induction method plus hormone drip and sweep. After the sweep I passed out, wasn't the best experience having the waters broke with a rod and then a hand up there! Everyone's experience is different - my other children were over due (so I've never had an earlier one) and I had 2 previous inductions and sweeps but I think every pregnancy is different and I'm older than I was! I've also been on blood thinner injections post birth which are savage. I had a cannula which had 3 different things going into it - the hormones, electrolytes and antibiotics to prevent strep B.
Labour induction wasn't going great, to the point it was almost an emergency c-section due to cord compression/cord wrapped round the neck and she was born needing some CPAP assistance and a hot cot for a day, plus having her bloods monitored due to my gestational diabetes - however, all was well and we were allowed to go home. I have my bloods tested in about 2 weeks to see if I've developed type 2 diabetes and will have my bloods done once a year to monitor it.
She weighed 2306g (rounded up to 5lb 1oz) and was only on the 1.1 centile - and 46 1/2cm! Born VE day (8th May) at 11.14am.
My mum was there to deliver the baby which was a beautiful moment and also delivered the placenta - she has always been the best labour partner but having her there to deliver my baby meant the world (for context she is a midwife) oh and my placenta - I decided to take that home and plant under a new rose plant ๐ I don't know why. It felt symbolic somehow.
My family came to visit and I did gender reveal cookies prior which was fun to make plus did all colour themed sweets to give to the kids when they came to pick us up from hospital plus got the kids little gifts - it's been an adjustment with 3 kids and a newborn but we will slowly get there."

Lifestyle | Foodie | Family | Bryony on Instagram: "This is my 'new' motherhood - your body doesn't feel like your own. Nights turn into days. Jobs you could get done are now done with a newborn or just not done at all. The baby just has to blend into routine of having multiple children, very challenging but it's only been a week, we all have a huge adjustment to make. Trying to forgive yourself for feeling like you're failing all the children for being forgetful or having a short temper. Constantly snacking and thirsty. You know the hair loss phase is about to start. Your eyebags have eyebags. Your skin isn't as young as it used to be. Let's not get started on the post labour pains and bleeding... And although she was only induced 3 weeks early I've already started to miss those tiny feet lodged in my ribs or causing me to pee 50 times in the night - she's thriving outside the womb, it could've been a different story.
... But there's a beauty in the newborn bubble. The newborn haze. There's something about those tiny newborn cuddles, or snuffly sounds in the night or the heartbroken cry when you've had to put her down to do something other than snuggle. It isn't long before they are raging toddlers... Or tweens and teens."

Been an emotional, overwhelming and very exhausting few days but she'll soon fit into the chaos of the Shaw household."

This year @lincsshowground are celebrating the 140th year, the Lincolnshire Show is a beloved tradition that highlights the rich heritage and culture of Lincolnshire! I think it's great people continue to support and join in #LincsShow25
My family and I the last two years have loved to go, to experience a family day out - my sons favourite thing is the 'bee tent' as he loves all the products they make with natural honey. My youngest enjoys seeing all the farm animals and my teenager likes exploring and seeing the rich tapestry of things available like the local businesses on site.
It's one of the county's flagship events with over 500 exhibitors each year. You can experience Lincolnshire's unique variety with shopping, horticulture displays, live music, equine and livestock competitions, children's activities, local food and drink, and fun entertainment (oh and the kids also love collecting freebies some tents like to offer like sweets!) We also liked the BMX display whilst eating freshly made ice-cream! There was also a 'human bowel' to explore (pictured on here) whilst learning about your health.
There is:
โข Parking
โข Coach parking
โข Toilets
โข Dogs on leads
โข Linked to public transport
โข Groups welcome
โข Baby facilities
โข Food/drink
โข Entertainment
The Lincolnshire Show is organised by the Lincolnshire Agricultural Society, a registered charity whose aims are to educate about food, farming and the countryside. All profits from events support their educational work, which engages with over 13,000 local children each year.
The Lincolnshire Agricultural Society's rich history began in 1869. For over 155 years the Society has dedicated itself to promoting food, farming and the countryside through events such as the Lincolnshire Show.

Really happy as the 20 week anomaly scan showed baby is growing well, healthy and active - not finding out the gender - so here's photos of me semi naked in the tub (milkbath + roses style) for celebration! ๐ฅฐ
Finding moments to appreciate my body has always been difficult for me since my teen years (regardless if slim or plus size as I fluctuate alot) so I haven't taken many bump pics this pregnancy - so my sister and bestie were around and I had the day off work and created this milk bath and roses aesthetic in my tub! ๐น
I've started to feel flutters and signs of life from within - so although my body is changing and I'm still in shock, there's definitely a baby in there! So, here's to the second trimester and celebrating what my body can do!"

Due late May 2025 (my babies never vacate on time though) I have 3 excited children and I'm even more outnumbered in my house - because who wants sanity and sleep!
Anomaly blood tests came back and all is well ๐ค- although I haven't been very well the last few weeks - think the older you get with work, kids and general adulthood the exhaustion is real! Currently loving anything on toast, very baggy leggings and gipping on air. Room extensions pending.
Hope you're all well, I know I've been MIA."

We are currently caravanning again, enjoying the summer holidays and yeah from today I have a teenage daughter. What the actual f*ck.
Firstly, I kept a child alive 13 years (let's just appreciate that for a moment)
Secondly, she's what made me "mama" - firstborn, single parent from day one and wouldn't change a thing even if I could (some days this is debatable)
Thirdly, I'm proud of her. I've already shared previous stories in the past on birthdays or blogs so I don't feel the need to have a long winded story but she's a strong kid. Also physically really strong - never go against her in an arm wrestle.
Parenting is the hardest job I'll ever had but here she is - sarcastic and always reminding me whatever I do, I always irritate her ๐"
