Sustainable motoring can mean more luxury with less stuff. #lessismore #thinkingsmall works
We invited our elderly neighbor over for dinner. She lost her husband a few months ago, just before holidays, and with winter, we haven't seen her much. It was a lovely dinner and conversation, including remembering her husband sneaking treats to our dog and throwing whiffle balls back at our sons, connecting her back with us and letting her know people around here care about her. It's a small thing, a dinner like that. It's a big thing, too. It's both, all in one. #smallstories #thinkingsmall
@[email protected] Sorry I didn't mean to pre-empt and I am sorry I missed your original #thinkingsmall. Small thoughts are actions in their own right, yes? When possible I will also support your hashtag.
"They ask how tending to a handful of gardens, painting one or two murals a year, and fixing up a house or vacant lot here and there can address the blight that has taken over.. And they lament that small dialogues... However, by working on this scale, we could pay much closer and greater attention to the relationships we were building among ourselves and with communities..." ~Grace Lee Boggs #thinkingsmall

@tellio
Thank the stars for people, for the raising of the hand through the window of the door to acknowledge the presence of another. For a shared key when our own key is forgotten at home. For access and entry and a few words of kindness.

@maloki

'Combine it with kindness" should be a bumper sticker on the Internet ... #thinkingsmall

Inspired by @tellio post, a path emerges from post to poem and on into song.

Things I Couldn’t Keep (for Terry)

A musical tribute and gift for my friend, Terry ... and a remembering of sorts about place and people. Read Terry's post: http://impedagogy.com/wp/blog/2018/03/29/eli-e-elliott-jr-rest-in-peace-dad/

“Find out what makes you kinder, what opens you up and brings out the most loving, generous, and unafraid version of you -- and go after those things as if nothing else matters. Because, actually, nothing else does.”

“The secrets of the Universe buried themselves in unusual and beautiful objects such as these, and only a select few could pull those secrets out. So, she had bought the crystals for ten cents.”

“Back in the days when I had no ways to communicate at all -- no writing, pointing on my alphabet grid or verbal expression -- I was extremely lonely. People who have never experienced this will go through life never knowing how soul-crushing the condition of wordlessness is.”
