Made a little all-wood yarn swift for my wife. Is for rewinding yarn that comes as a hank (big circle) to a ball or vice versa. As it doesn't have to spin particularly fast, wood on wood with minimal contact and waxed surfaces is fine for light duty.

Reclaimed messmate and home made paste wax (linseed and bee). Mixture of hand and power tools.

The aesthetics of Nodalin, its color palette, and even some of its philosophy were directly inspired by the amazing projects and people I've encountered there over the years. Watching creators build strange, beautiful, and deeply personal tools gave me the confidence to keep working on my own.

I might never have considered building it without seeing all these people making their own weird tools

Realized that I need to step up my income bringing side projects now that my freelance contract has ended. Started working on porting the wheel controller from my 15 year old racing game to Unity for release on the asset store. I really enjoy using Unity as it was intended to be used, before all the bloat came.

Side note: Interesting that mastodon has better video support than BlueSky (where I post most of this more promotional stuff).
