Released February 28, 1984 .. they quasi "come-back" album. After the experimental, dance-heavy Hot Space (1982), the album marked a return to their classic hard rock sound with 1980s synthesizers and electronics. Das 10. bzw. 11. Studioalbum von #Queen #TheWorks (mit/ohne "Flash Gordon"), war wieder etwas rockiger und wurde in L.A. & München aufgenommen. Nachdem in den prüden USA das Video zu "#IWantToBreakFree Negativschlagzeilen nach sich zog, verzichtete die Band auf eine Nordamerika-Tour. In Europa war die Platte ein Riesenerfolg und 93 Wochen in den UK Album Charts, so lang, wie kein anderes Queen-Studioalbum.
