If you've not seen it, I highly recommend The Woman King. Currently streaming on Film 4 and has ten more days to run.

A good film. We really enjoyed it. Viola Davis (all of the actors, tbh) was brilliant in it.

Interesting that they chose to use a Portuguese colony of West Africa but the fort the slavers sailed to and from was (and still is) in one of the many British surrounding colonies! Can't have the Brits being shown as bad _too_ often.
