I've always been a bit mixed when it came to the new arrangement of the DS9 theme starting with Season 4.
There is something about the theme song used for seasons 1-3 (along with Voyager's) that pulls at my emotional strings.
I know with the lead up to the Dominion War and everything else that starts to happen in Season 4 onwards, the new arrangement hints at that with the marching beat-like bass and the higher level of energy.
It still doesn't quite pull the same emotional strings, though.
