Memo to self: do not be afraid to revisit 'difficult' books. Not only are they truly wonderful to read, you'll also see so much more in them than the first time round! Yes, I've been re-reading Virginia Woolf, a long time favourite author, and the title I went back to was one which I really can't be sure when I last read.

Hormis sa fine ornementation descriptive, comme une peinture, c’est surtout l’écriture du creux qui m’a touché, sa façon poétique de mettre en relief l’éphémérité.
Les vagues, entre leur creux et leurs plein évoquent les entrelacs d’Eros et Thanatos, l’absurdité de l'aliénation humaine aux cycles naturels. Une vie qui passe vite.
Autre point que j’ai adoré, les appréhensions du monde si singulière de nos “témoins”, comme la logique “autistique” de Rhoda. Une finesse de description qui ravira sans doute les cliniciens !
