A lesser-known gem from the late ’80s.
Released around the same time as Fatal Attraction, The Stepfather didn’t get the same attention—but I remember being a big fan. Terry O’Quinn is absolutely terrific in the lead role, bringing real menace and nuance to a character that deserved more recognition.
Definitely worth seeking out—just avoid the 2009 remake.
