Another directorial debut, and another film of which I have no recollection, which is strange because I’ve just watched the trailer and it looks absolutely stunning. I could have pulled any number of quotes to back that up but I’ll just go with this one from the Guardian - "stunningly beautiful… a gothic masterpiece that is often strangely overlooked."
