#TheMalteseFalcon is a perfect example of a movie that is absolutely not for me. I found it too long, the dialogues mostly boring, and all of the characters too unlikeable to give a fuck about what happens to them. 😅 (1/5)

Jetzt weiß ich endlich, warum #MeetMeInStLouis als Weihnachtsfilm gilt.

Judy Garland ist absolut fantastisch. An ein, zwei Gesangsnummern könnte ich herumkritisieren. Aber der gesamte Film ist einfach viel zu charmant, als dass ich das tun wĂŒrde. Mary Astor als Mutter von fĂŒnf Kindern, nur drei Jahre nach #TheMalteseFalcon, hat mich echt ĂŒberrascht.

Einfach gut geschrieben und top besetzt. Vincente Minnelli in Hochform. Kein Wunder, dass aus dieser Kombination eine Liza Minnelli hervorging.

Sunday viewing this evening: an episode or two of “Foyle’s War” with a John Huston classic in between on Turner Classic Movies. I consider that a win.
