The real stuff is the dialogue between John and Martin. Basira and Daisy? I think both will not be happy to see the Archivist, nor his companion.

The Statement is... felt like one of those Mad Maxploitations from the 80s. With a humongous dose of nightmare. A masterfulexample of atmosphere based on when everything ends.

P.S.: John know how bad was our world..THAT'S the real nightmare of this episode.

John, this isn't the time to have a crsis about what you're doing! Sorry, but i'm with Martin. Simon Fairchild deserves death. Or destruction.Whatever can be done to him.

Is EVIL. Final period.

And helen...i'm beginning to think she wants to be destroyed. or at least..She has her own reasons to wanting John destroying other avatars

As if I didn't have enough of a backlog of books, games, movies and TV, today I decided to embark on a re-listen of #TheMagnusArchives #podcast.

Planned to ration myself to one ep per day, but somehow listened to the first four... It's been a few years, so was quite startled to realise how iconic these early eps are, especially the first two, 'Angler Fish' and 'Do Not Open'.

Highly recommended for those who like their horror more at the esoteric and weird end.

This was disturbing as F! Johyn wanting to g through the place as soon as they can.And Marting cling to what was the norm before everything ended.

And Callum. A super-powered bully deserving the beating of his life.

The most nightmarish thing is, btw, when John says something true: What about he children? Where they ended when the Apocalypse came?.

This episode made me to feel paranoia like few tales made me feel. Through Martin, i mean. His fear of his decisions not being his is a very relatable fear.

The theme of not being in control is one that make some of the finest horror. And the Spider here is a good example. Too god, even.

Relistening to The Magnus Archives episode 93: Contaminant

and I really like how we've been getting somewhere with the exact natures of the entities. I forgot how good this series was lmao. I feel like there's definitely been things I've caught this second time through that I missed the first time.

This is... a bizarre mix of very disturbing and sort of dissapointing' Jared doesn't fight, doesn't try to avoid anything. Makes me feel uneasy.

And i can't avoid he had some trick up his sleeve.

The Lonely. Martin's dominion. Not a nice one, and i'm using too kind words. Poor Martin.

BUT i would say, being this the Apocalypse and all that...

...This episode in particular has a happy end. "No. Not anymore". Best fucking wrds to end this episode in particular.

John using his power without feeling guilty is something that would give nightmares to the nightmares themselves. But this tie we're talking about Jude Perry. so... Is easy to understand John.

The statement? Terror after terror. Burning stuff always has that "all that remain is ashes" thing.

Martin jealous. And angry. But this time... The Statement is... the way the agony and death of a person is described here and why, and how is disturbing. This isn't a episode for all people. And i would not be surprised if someone had serious nightmares after listening to it.

And, or course, John's decision at the end.

Travelling through the Apocalypse is... creepy, being kind.
