Get this: They actually freakin' made a commercial for the Super Bowl last year! They released it on social media *during* the Super Bowl halftime show and played it in store.

And it's freakin' great!

The blockbuster by our neighborhood had the unfortunate habit of putting everything that was animated in the kids section. Sometimes it was great (Disney and Jim Henson and Don Bluth movies), sometimes it was traumatic (my uncle renting “Fritz the Cat” for the weekend he was babysitting me)

My family would always go to Blockbuster on Thursday night on the way back from my choir rehearsals. It’d be like 11pm and there’d be pretty much no crowd. Very worth it because my parents would go pick their 2 movies and I’d get to pick 1 or 2 on my own.

Me and my mother are currently in a long standing battle with the HOA over the ability to set up a Free Little Library and a Free Little Blockbuster in the little neighborhood playground/park area. 5 year terms is a stupid length for a term limit for a neighborhood that didn’t exist before 2001đŸ€Ź

@rsmon77 that’s one of things I miss the most during this unending pandemic: digging for physical media in the stacks at Half Priced Books, thrift stores, BigLots and the Friends Of The Library books&media sales.

Troma has a streaming service called TromaNow. It’s pretty alright but I’m happier with NightFlight+ which has a Troma hub as well
