#TheKingsSpeech was high on activity, and does have some genuinely welcome policies, especially the #HillsboroughLaw, but it was lacking in serious proposals for fundamental #change in many areas. The policy on #Ukraine was particularly foolish.

【David Seidler, best known for his Oscar-winning writing on The King’s Speech, has died aged 86, according to reports.

The London-born screenwriter, who had a stammer growing up, was inspired to write about the true story of how King George VI overcame his speech impediment with a speech and language therapist.】

Bugger, and valé. A brilliant screenplay, and the fact that he stammered as a child means he understood the topic, rather than just read about it. We absolutely loved every aspect of The King's Speech., from start to finish.

A ★★★★ review of The King's Speech (2010)

Should The Social Network have won? Probably. It doesn't mean that The King's Speech is a bad film. In fact, I still think it's pretty great. Firth and Rush have tremendous chemistry, and Bonham Carter is as fantastic as always. Still makes me laugh 14 years on.
