We saw three films this week, one of which was really good. The other two, not so much.

Inside Out 2

It’s been a while since we saw the first Inside Out film and, while I remember enjoying it, I don’t remember much about the film itself. So I’m not going to try to compare Inside Out 2 to it’s predecessor.

Instead, I will simply note that this film superbly captures the emotional rollercoaster that is being a teenage, with a few well place nods towards the parents having to deal with them. As with the best of Pixar’s films, Inside Out 2 is fun, funny, and surprisingly profound.

Damsel

I feel that I should have enjoyed Damsel a lot more than I did. Fantasy is a genre that I enjoy and I do like stories that play around with genre tropes. Millie Bobby Brown is proving to be a very reliable actress and she puts in a great lead performance as the unwitting sacrifice to pay someone else’s debt.

The problem is that the film takes an awfully long time to get started, and even when it does, everything remains a little too predictable.

The Huntsman: Winter’s War

This was a bit of an odd experience because The Huntsman: Winter’s War is the sequel to a film that I haven’t actually seen.

The main thing that struck me about this film was just how much it had borrowed from Frozen: So much so that I kept expecting Emily Blunt to start singing “Let it Go!”

I was definitely inspired by this movie I barely remember. 😆😂🤣

I'm not even sure I actually saw it. Just this trailer in 2016.

Also, I did a whole shoot in that outfit for my only fans cuz that's the kind of stuff I like to do...
