It sounds similar in concept to #PaulGiamatti's role as a teacher in #TheHoldovers (2023) in which he sacrifices his job for the benefit of a smart but troubled student he has developed an affection for & wants to help.

Just saw #NowYouSeeMe3 (NYSM3) at my local #AMC today.
It was a decent sequel which added a few new characters to the cast & got rid of 1 in the process.
One of the new characters had a bit part in #JurrasicParkFallenKingdom (2018) & the other co-starred with #PaulGiamatti in #TheHoldovers (2023).
#RosamundPike plays the "bad guy" & adopts a very convincing South African accent in her role.
The concluding "trick" in NYSM3 is performed in the same vain as those that were executed in NYSM 1 & 2 & were revealed similarly as well.
There were several weak points but it was entertaining enough to rate a 6 out of 10, which means it's good enough IMO spend $ to see at the theater.
BTW, the way it ended left it open for a NYSM4.
