#TheGiantClaw (1957)
Scientists ponder a buzzardlike big bird able to lift a train.
If you've seen some of my more recent posts, you know I've done a few #printmaking projects in homage to the cheesy 50's monster movie "The Giant Claw." For #jamuary today, I figured why stop there? That hideous, lovable, lumpy monster deserves his own musical ode as well (lyrics are in the track decription):

The Giant Claw is a cheesy monster movie from the 50s with a ridiculous, hideous bird puppet for a monster that I just love to death. An ode seemed like an appropriate Jamuary entry. Lyrics: Radar b
My love for the monster from The Giant Claw really knows no bounds. It's so hideous and adorable! Making a shirt wasn't enough, I've been working on this #woodcut of a different image I drew of it, and today was finally time for first proofs!
I haven't done woodcut in a long time, as decent blocks have been hard to come by. I found some japanese katsura recently, so this was a chance to give it a whirl. Lots of cleanup to do, but I like it!
I've been working on this #linocut for the past couple of weeks, and today I finally managed to print it on a shirt, which is a first for me!
The Giant Claw (which you can find on youtube!) is an old monster movie from 1957, and my friend and I were so taken with the laughably bad puppet when we watched it, I knew immediately that I needed to make some fan art.
