#TheFrighteners, just recorded by the Tivo off Film4, will be 30 years old this year.
One odd thought watching it is how domestic appliances haven't changed all that much.
It has aged remarkably well. There's nothing really that jars with the modern world of smart 'phones and suchlike; although Frank would likely have a WWW site nowadays rather than business cards. The mixture of action and comic relief still works.
I haven't re-watched it in years. Lots of little touches are there, like Frank's terrible driving and the plastic gravestone that the husband put up for his garden gnome only for Frank to then run over that.
An unusual credit is #MichaelJFox's chef. A subtitles goof is that they credit The Carpenters instead of Sonic Youth (per the closing credits) for 'Superstar' when it comes on.
It's not some SFX horror movie. It's more in the vein of the Ghostbusters and Beetlejuice movies, really, albeit with slightly more adult themes. More Angel than Buffy.
