I feel a moral obligation as a follower of Dudeism to spend some time at the Lebowski Bar in Reykjavík. It’s pretty epic.
As I was flipping through the food and beverages menu I was confused to see a White Russian was missing from the cocktail list. Then I turned the page.
Naturally I’m sitting at the Dude’s spot at the bar.
Wow, I just saw some dude achieving at a level not seen in the wild for many years. Pink and white terry-cloth robe. 2 x king-size Reese's peanut butter cups in one pocket. 2 bags of McDonald's in hand. Fully struggling with the I just dabbed face walking down the sidewalk.
Capitalism tells us that achievement is the ultimate goal. The dude tells us that it is most definitely not.
We’re in the system, so we gotta play to eat. But it’s okay to forget what day it is. We don’t have to lose ourselves in it.
The dude abides. You can, too.
